It's gonna be them meeting up at an attorney's office to sign the papers.

When it opens, Celine and Jesse have been separated for five or six years. Their girls are graduating and the commencement ceremony is at noon. Jesse goes to Celine's to pick her up that morning. For some reason circumstances throw them together. Neither one is all that pleased to be around the other. But a series of events and errands ensue. In the hours before noon the two of them fight, open up, discuss being older, her live in boyfriend (Jesse loathes him), what they want now, etc. Last scene is them watching the girls walk across the stage, clapping and cheering, Celine cries. Hank is there too, looking great. Jesse and Celine turn to each other with pure joy in that moment, forgetting about everything else. And maybe, just maybe there's hope for them yet.

That's actually a very possible script idea, well done!

Nah I'm not digging that idea, people who separate don't cheesily get back together like a fairy tale. I think they'll just stay together, but if they did split, then it has to be for good. Besides I think the entire point of Before Midnight was that they got through this rough patch, atleast that's what the ending indicates to me. Otherwise they would have ended it with the "I don't love you" scene.

You could definitely be right. Although in my theory I don't say they end up together and live happily ever after. Instead its totally up to interpretation, as is the end of every "Before" film in the franchise. You don't know for sure until they pick up the next film. At the end of the graduation you think maybe they will work it out, maybe they won't, but there's that hope ever present. Maybe they'll chalk up their time and experiences together for what they are and just be happy they knew one another at all. Value the love they shared for a time, their family, and move on.
