shareI felt the same way. I understand the idea of an open ending, but personally I couldn't tell what kind of message was trying to be conveyed. She had just got done saying "Did you hear what I said ?" referring to her "I don't love you" statement ; and also "This isn't a game." meaning he couldn't make it all better with a cute little scenario. So, when she begins playing along with it right at the end I couldn't tell if I was supposed to believe they would sort it out, or if she was just playing with him, but would inevitably want to break-up. The conversation could have completely changed in one minute.
It just seemed like an awkward time in the conversation to end it.
It's perfect in my opinion. She looks like she's about to walk away for a second but then decides to stay and play along with the time travel. That's all I need to know it'll work out.
shareI didn't like that I couldn't completely tell if she was sincerely playing along or mocking him. So a minute later te whole conversation could have turned 180 degrees again and then she would walk away.
shareI don't think so. Earlier in the movie she uses the same voice saying that she knows it makes him attracted to her. So when she does it at the end it means she wants him to be attracted to her and she is also playing along with his joke.
Plus no matter if they extended the movie another 20 minutes they could always erupt into a fight at any given time.
Exactly. Also, to those who feel uncertain, keep in mind that when Jesse writes something for Celine/with Celine in mind it is for the purpose of bringing them together. By Celine playing along in the end (essentially accepting his story/letter) she is saying that she still loves him and she is willing continue their journey together.
share"It must be one hell of a night we we're about to have"
I think this leaves me feeling positive. But nothing is fully fixed yet. I feel that it may be a small fix but of course the relationship is going to require more work and they may ultimately break up. It's such a beautiful story and just because there is now doubt in their future and they aren't like a pair of loved up teenagers. But that's life. I love how real this film is.
I absolutely loved the ending!
You really feel that this is the end of this couple who's relationship we feel like we've been following for 18 years, only to have Celine in the last 60 seconds completely turn the tables and we get a tender moment reminiscent to the first movie
