it was surprisingly good... didn't expect to like it but i loved it! not sure what i can share on here but as far a stephen king goes ---- spoiler alert ---- no face just a phone call
shareGlad you enjoyed it and found it a good movie! Did Jennifer Connelly get much screen-time? How did you find her character?I'm a big fan of her work so I'm curious to find out if it's a good role for her.

could you share your general feedback/comments on the film:
1. Chemistry between the 3 principal pairs - Kinnear and Jen Connelly, Logan Lerman and Lily Collins, Nat Wolff and Liana Liberato
2. How was the soundtrack? Heard that Bright Eyes did the score and Conor Oberst composed a song plus a soundtrack with Elliot Smith, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
3. Were there some references to writing, books for the main characters
4. How was the audience reaction
Sorry for pestering but I've been looking forward to seeing this as there aren't that many films out there, mainstream or indie which have writers/aspiring writers as characters. thanks

Okay well for starters it was in the Garden State 16 AMC (as stated Paramus, NJ).. but overall i thought the movie was fantastic! It was about almost an entire family of writers and their struggles with love. Jen Connelly to be honest with you was good with who she played with but i was not a big fan of her acting. maybe because i haven't seen much of her work before or she had a bad role.. idk but she was the least favorite for me. Logan Lerman and Lily Collins were both my absolute favorite actors in this by a landslide. I mean their chemistry was phenomenal and so realistically lovable it was amazing how well they did with each other. Nat Wolff and Liana Liberato were great together as well just like the rest of the actors however I'll leave their performances alone considering i don't have much to go by with them. They were great together though. As far as writing references go, there were numerous amounts of book references all over the place and many writers were singled out but also gone into depth about so all in all it is definitely a movie worth seeing if you are a literature buff, love to read, or are an english major lol. Audience i think enjoyed it, cant say for sure though.
Last but not least, the soundtrack! All i can really say is......... I'm not a fan of the type of music they used. HOWEVER, this movie made me go home and download a few songs instantly. I kid you not, i wish i could've had my phone on to use Shazam during the film it was such a great soundtrack. all the music was placed well and it couldn't have been better. the whole movie was really just great and i still cannot get over how good it was.
@superskip - thanks for sharing your thoughts on the film. Garden State 16 AMC is my regular moviehouse so I'm disappointed I didn't get to see the screening. And as a literature buff, it's good to hear that there are writer/book references in the movie. Also some of the reviews from TIFF mentioned like you that Logan Lerman and Lily Collins had spot on chemistry and the most memorable scenes in the film. Looking forward to seeing this and listening to the indie/alt folk-rock soundtrack. I think the writer-director Josh Boone said that he cued a lot of the songs in the script

I live in RiverEdge just a couple of minutes away darn, I could have seen this too. How was it? It got good feedback at TIfF 2012 where it had a premiere and eventually a US distributor. Was this at the AMC Loews in Westfield?
