Leslie Mann, God love her, is a Lucille Ball channeling ditz but she made the movie! Yes, the plot was thin at times and very predictable. would have switched the laxative bathroom scene for one in which the ED effects of the pills were made apparent, THAT was his real Achilles heel!

And to all who are critiquing (hating on, bashing, bullying) Kate Upton for her body shape, I applauded the fact that Hollywood finally used an actress that looks healthy and fit!

I'm glad I didn't listen to the critics reviews. Now that my cheap used DVD dealer, Blockbuster, is out of biz, I have to buy new DVDs. I am pickier and rarely do but this movie one I will be in line for July 29th!

wow, yes, major photoshopping....i don't know much about her and this is the first film of hers that i've ever seen. i didn't mind her performance b/c like a previous poster has said, she's not in it much. And seeing how the movie is quite juvenile to begin with, it's not like her lack of acting skills ruined what would've been a great film. most of the people from whom i heard about her "perfect body" were male friends and i guess most of them failed to look beyond the boobs. i get the impression that according to them, if a woman has a decent face and a great rack, she has a "perfect body." all the other flaws that are so obvious and irksome to other women, are of no importance to men. it's rather unfortunate but i feel like men are far more forgiving about women's bodies than women are about other women.

Upton's problem isn't her lack/excess of "meat" (or FAT), it's her body fat DISTRIBUTION!! Simply put, her SHAPE is the problem!

This broad has a really weird case of central fat accumulation. No "meat" at all on her limbs (esp. her legs) and a really thick, lardy gut. She's shaped like the damn Android logo, whereas every other SI/VS model is shaped like an hourglass and has toned, shapely ass and legs.

Well I don't know about any of this perfection business... and I agree the entertainment world can sometimes be very creepy as well as damaging to girls with the cartoon-like altered images it sends out. As a rather fit male myself though and on the off chance she comes upon this thread and takes any part of what you said to heart I'd like to state for the record that I think she's very a pretty girl in the pictures you linked.

I'm not great at judging how much a photo has been touched up but most women I know (even the very attractive ones) tend to fluctuate quite a bit in their weight and muscle mass. I didn't see anything offputting in ANY of those pics you posted. She's a lovely woman in the candids you linked to.

I can understand your position but your comments strike me as unfair and cruel. There is no one standard for beauty and no one is always at their best and ready for the camera. I'll take a girl that's pretty on an off day and beautiful on a good one any time.

That said, I really had no idea who this Kate Upton person was (only heard the name a few times) and have to admit I found her oddly shaped the moment that running-across-the-beach scene started. She has a really cute face, definitely not ugly or anything & a lousy actor (especially next to Diaz & Mann) in my opinion.

I won't really try to pick apart every aspect of a persons appearance (but yes, those pics show tiny teeth, which is a pet peeve of mine)... in average she is far from ugly though. Unflattering pictures are easily made...

What I wonder about is if Diaz & Mann truly meant what they said in that beach scene. I know of course it's scripted and all, but they must know that they have better figures than a girl just about half their age. It truly would be a turn off for me if I met a girl like that (and yes, whiners, there are plenty of pretty girls out there, even in the real world).

This film does not deserve anything higher than 5/10, but I don't agree with all the Kate Upton hate from em745. Photoshopped images are a plague indeed, but this girl is lovely with or without enhancements.
It baffles me how you give Katy Perry as the example of perfection. To me, she changes from a pretty cute Zooey Deschanel look-alike into a female Marilyn Manson, most of the time I see her. But I guess we all have personal tastes.

I quite enjoyed T.O.W.. The girls become unlikely friends over a low-life husband. The story is predictable, but entertaining. You go through something real with L. Mann. If you stop rolling you eyes about the easy to write dialogue for a few minutes, you realize she hits every emotion a con'd woman experiences. I especially like the short beach scene. Tons of films exist about woman hating other woman. This one goes in the opposite direction and all rise above negativity.
