Coming of age story and no wokeness
This was a wonderful movie. A great coming of age story. It felt like the kind of movies we used to see in the 80's, 90's, and early 00's. It was a fun movie, but it also had some sad scenes that hit you hard in the feels.
And if you are tired of woke Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, then this movie is for you. There is no diversity. No blacks. No Alphabet people. No trannies. No feminism. No pride flags being shoved in your face.
Now, with that said, technically there is one black guy in it, but he only appears briefly. Then there is one character who appears to be a normal straight White dude, but he also might be a closet homo. Nothing is ever explicitly said, so I choose to see him as nothing but a straight normal dude. And finally, even though I said there is no diversity, technically speaking, one of the main cast members is partially Lebanese so she does check some diversity box, but she looks like a normal White girl, Greek or Italian (she actually is of Bulgarian, Lebanese, Greek, Italian, and German descent), so I was fine with it.
All in all, I highly recommend this movie to everyone. Go watch it with your friends or family. You won't regret it. Also spread the word. We need to make sure movies like these are successful so that we get more of them.
