Irish American Brooklyn gangsters living wild and carefree in 2015? Give me a break, the Westies gang were the last of the NYC Irish mob and they were wiped out in the mid 1980s.
Wish directors and filmmakers would stop trying to portray NY today as the crime ridden 1970s Era. It's been massively cleaned up.

You realise this film is set in 1996? Even says it near the end when the detective is reading a newspaper

I didn't realize it was. It's been over a year since I saw the film but I remember the police car in the chase scene is a mid-2000s Dodge Charger which would make it an anachronism.

It's not set in 1996, that was a newspaper from the past showing Jimmy walking free from court.
