The son was the most annoying character ever

Anyone else hate that guy? I guess that was the way he was written, honestly didn't care if he survived till the end.

Yes. He needed to lighten up a little, although I do understand where he is coming from. Perhaps an emotional resolve with his father while the father is dying might have ironed out the viewers sentiments against him. It could have been highly cliched and corny but a simple photo on the hallway mirror simply doesn't cut it for me. Perhaps after all that has happened he is still distant to his father.

I fully agree, moping about with his mouth agape and never appreciating the times his father saved his life. I seriously disliked his character.

The son was definitely the worst part of the movie. Talk about a character with zero likeability. At some point after his father saves his ass several times, shows obvious concern for his well-being, and basically grovels for forgiveness you'd think he would at least show an ounce of gratitude or forgiveness. Particularly after saving him the second time, from the cops I thought some thankfulness was warranted.

Obviously they meant to show that he finally did at the end, but it was communicated very weakly. I really just wasn't buying the hatred the son had, even some slight comcern or mixed feelings on his part would have seemed more realistic.

I liked him actually and his initial hatred for his father was understandable Imo. He changed by the end and I liked that, this us a film about an estranged father and his son.
