Very Sad Game

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a sad game [that is if you've played the others to understand why it was sad]. Beyond: Two Souls is a sad game as well. As I wrote on GameFaqs's message board for this game, I do not understand the hate for David Cage or Quantic Dreams. Seriously to you naysayers about both Cage & QD, you can kiss my ass! This game evoked serious sadness to the point of tears. This game was purely awesome.

Yes, beautifully told and very sad story. I loved Heavy Rain but "Beyond" is mind blowingly amazing piece of art!

It is indeed, best game in years!! :)

I will admit that some parts of the game towards the end were definitely like being kicked in the gut. The whole Aiden being a dead twin was so sad.

reply

Yeah, but the first time I played it, I had an inkling as to Aiden's relationship given it seemed...predictable, but still a great sad game.

This game is simply amazing! I am sooo sick and tired of all the shooters, or slash and punch games... This game has A GREAT storyline, with exceptionally well established characters and acting. I cried numereous time while playing through it, especially in the scene, where Jodie helps Stan communicate with his dead wife.

A truly amazing game, that should be played by people who love a great story!

The game was great and it made me very emotional. Jodie has to go through so much it's just so sad but in the end she can achieve happiness. I wonder if there will be a sequel set in the future that we get a glimpse of at the end of the game. I really hope so!

reply

I'm pretty sure there will be a sequel. I chose the Zoey ending and it turns out either Zoey is also "sensitive" or she is super close to Jodie growing up as the ending where you see Jodie walking on top of a dilapidated building, you see another girl with her, which I can only assume is Zoey as an older teenager or grown up and has joined whatever organization is setup to fight the opening rifts.

Aside from that, it's a successful game all around. But if they do, it'll probably be for the PS4.

reply

Yes, I think if there is a sequel it would definitely be for the PS4 but since Sony claims they will support the PS3 for a few more years, it could be released on both consoles.

reply

As much as I hate to burst bubbles, but [and I'd love a sequel for all three games] I read that David Cage isn't a Sequel fan though we all can hope and all.

I was in tears by the end. On the first playthrough... I was overtly critical of the game, and constantly compared it to 'Heavy Rain'. But when Jodie learnt the truth about Aiden... When she was on her own, losing her memory... When she decided to choose life with Ryan... I was bawling.

Love the comments here. I to cried at the end.

Well, I guess I'm a wuss I almost cried many times during Jodie's childhood scenes, especially with that poor excuse for a "father"!! Her poor little face just broke my heart.
