I imagine that it was easier to hire kids with a little acting experience than to try to teach new kids how to act.
Every aspect of this movie was just lazy.

orrrrrr, you hire kids with notoriety and that sucks in kids that know who they are to go watch the movie. believe this is 'casting 101'. people can hate on this movie, but please make sense if you do.

That would be the case for most movies, but this one is specifically titled, "Grown Ups" and has a lot of adult humor. Parents might not let their kids see it.
