Insulting

In that scene where all the women are "tricked" into doing those "excercises", are we really supposed to believe these women are stupid? Really, especially when he had them turn around, bend over, and smack their butts! Really!? Really writers? Do you really think women are just stupid, and aren't gonna catch onto this? One gets suspicious, but goes through with it anyway. Sorry, I just found that scene completely insulting to women's intelligence(and I'm not even a woman). One of many reasons this movie sucked.

Also, why on Earth did Sandler's wife in the film, get involved in that brawl at the end, when she's pregnant!? Does she want to have a miscarriage? And also, why were the kids allowed in on the brawl? And what about that dance instructor teaching her students erotic dance moves? I realize the point was to get the men to be turned on by the teacher, but really? What were these people on when they wrote this "movie"?

This must be ur 1st Adam Sandler Movie...and don't forget the actresses that did the scene were obviously not offended...they know it's all in good fun. If we don't laugh, then Al-Qaeda has won...see ...that there is an offensive joke. I see where ur coming from, but this kinda puts u up there with that mom who bought all those tshirts at the store coz SHE was offended.

reply

No, I've seen plenty of Sandler flicks. And the women were fine doing the scene because they were paid good money to do it. Sorry, I just don't see the humor in viewing women as mindless sex objects.

If acting like a woman means failing to see the humor in them portrayed as idiots completely unaware of what that guy was having them do, then maybe more men should act like women?

Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with a bit of dirty comedy(huge Mel Brooks fan), but when it insults intelligence like that, that's where my problem lies.

And this movie was a comedy? Last time I checked, comedies were supposed to make you laugh! ;)

If you liked it, that's perfectly fine. I firmly believe everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I just found the movie stupid to the point of being insulting, and that's my opinion.

They really didnt have a story here, it was like sandler just said lets all get together and have some fun making a movie. There were some funny parts but they really needed script work. Alot of stuff was just stupid and made no sense. The original was a real good movie that made perfect sense for the most part and i think people watching this were expecting the same kind of film, which they should have got. Just lazy film making.

reply

Yeah, and sometimes a film with no plot can work, like the Marx Brothers comedy Monkey Business. But here, it just fell flat on its face.

reply

Oh here we go with this politically correct *beep* that's plaguing our culture now days. I'm sure coming on IMDB and bitching about it really changed everyone's minds on the subject.

Seriously gain a funny bone. I highly doubt a bad Adam Sandler movie scene will change everyone's mind on viewing or not viewing woman as "Sex objects"....

reply

1. I watch movies from as far back as the 1910s. Political Correctness isn't an issue for me. If they'd had one or two of the women fall for it, while the others just look at them like "WTF", that would've been funny. And admittedly if the movie itself had any redeeming qualities, I'd have likely turned a blind eye to it.

2. It's not called "bitching", it's called stating an opinion. If you thought I made a post in a stupid attemp to change anyone else's opinion, you're very much mistaken. That's not my style. Bitching would be flooding the entire message board with "This movie sucks!......Adam Sandler's a moron!.......Anyone who likes this has no taste!......etc.", which I do not approve of. I'm very strongly for everyone having their own opinions, and don't try to change that. I just stated my own. Plain and simple.

Society these days... I see people defending their "right" to be mean, political incorrect and it disgusts me. It makes me ashamed of being human. Why are people like this, these days?

Greatest movie ever made, makes Citizen Kane look like toilet water.

I am not a fan of this movie.. but seriously you are over exaggerating. I don't find this offensive at all.

Get the stick out if your *beep* bloody hell. Go back to your feminist rallies ya crazy *****

Actually, you would be surprised at what people agree to do if they feel like someone in authority is telling them what to do. Watch the movie called Compliance, which is based on actual events, to see what I mean. It's easy to say that women (or anyone) would be smarter than that, but statistics prove otherwise.

This movie was just over-exaggerating for comedic effect, but in real life anyone (male or female) can be tricked into doing anything if the other person is smooth enough.

reply

Hmmm.....Well yes, I can see that I suppose.

reply

Wow. Did you watch the whole movie? You only found three things that were completely ridiculously over the top unbelievable? Maybe you just caught those three parts and didn't see anything else in the movie. There wasn't a 3 minute segment that went by in this movie that didn't involve something that could and would never happen in real life. Do you really think a deer would wander into a house, go up the stairs and rear up on it's hind legs and pee??? And while this is happening in her bedroom, the wife yells to her husband to close his mouth. Yeah, that's what I would be worried about in that situation, some urine. Not the wild animal in my house about to rip things apart and possible kill someone. This happened in the first 2 minutes of the movie. You should have turned it off then. This movie is a suspend all disbelief, ridiculous outrageously dumb comedy. I didn't even like it that much. The funniest thing about this movie is your silly review.
Spoiler Alert: In Weird Science, some high school kids CAN'T really make a full grown woman with their commodore 64 and even if they did, she wouldn't be able to change the big brother into a blob of smelly goo. It just wouldn't happen in real life, just like those women being tricked into bending over by the janitor. What were those writers thinking????? REALLY? REALLY???? REALLY????????

reply

lol Never once did I say that was all that was wrong with this movie. I could write a book on why this is one of the most immature comedies ever made. But I have a life, so I don't have that kind of time to list everything, so I just named a handful.

reply

There it is....The complete vindication of how ridiculous your post was in the first place. You called the movie the "one of the most immature comedies ever made", yet you posted female empowerment issues, activities during pregnancy issues, and inappropriate child rearing issues.
The point is that you reviewed a movie and complained about an aspect of it that is a central theme of the movie. Stupid stuff happens in stupid stuff movies.
Why don't you go post a review of The Godfather and complain about all the violence.

reply

Why complain about an intelligently made movie, when I can complain about one that had little to no thought put into it? It's called an opinion dude.

reply

[deleted]

I didn't name only one, I named three, haha. Yeah, the whole movie is pathetic. One of the worst "comedies" I've ever seen.

reply

For someone who has a life, you seem to be wasting a lot of it defending your asinine comment. Get back on your high horse, white knight.

reply

Are you saying having an opinion puts someone on a high horse if it differs than yours? Or just opinions in general?

reply

Quiet, sweetie. Men are talking.

reply

😂👍

reply

First of all this movie was stupid and a little boring.

Second, why on earth would you be insulted by entertainment on any level?

Choose wisely, and choose what suits you. When something is bad it's just bad, it is no reflection on women, your kind, any kind.

Why did she have a brawl when she is pregnant? Because it's a movie, grasp the concept, then watch what suits you.

It will be ok. It was not a true story.

reply

Oh believe me. Watching this movie wasn't my idea. My sister is a big Adam Sandler fan, and wanted me to watch with her. She ended up hating the movie more than I did.

"It's just a movie" is the lamest excuse for allowing a movie to be stupid. The job of a movie is to entertain its audience. And it has to treat said audience with intelligence. Putting crap in that's too ridiculous or immature is not giving your audience any respect whatsoever.
