Freddie

I love me some Freddie Jones! I wasn't familiar with Danny Dyer who plays him (even though I have seen him in The Trench), and after a bit of research I learned he's mostly known for his baddie roles. He's definitely a talented actor because Freddie has a whole lot going on....

It would have to be a more challenging acting job to play someone who is falling out of love with his annoying wife yet compassionately defends her to a room full of rich snobs who are mocking her while at the same time falling in love with the invisible-to-her-own-husband innocent, sweet woman who can only write about passionate affairs because she struggles with the notion of having one herself. Somehow, Freddie, despite his apparent hypocrisy at worst and conflicted emotions at best, makes viewers fall in love with him and earn their empathy. Even with his flaws, he's a decent, kind guy and that comes straight through the screen.

Freddie is far and above the sexiest man on the show even though he is the most average looking of the men. That is a feat when Aidan Turner and Alex Hassell are standing there as their "we are supposed to be the sexy ones" characters.

I watched this because Aidan Turner is in it, but now I don't care at all that he is! Team Freddie here.
