In season one, Chabi questions her about her life and customs, back with her own people. Chabi figured it out on her own, and we get confirmation when Kokachin/Nurguey(sp?) despairs about a child only having half royal blood, and Chabi replies that the child will have no royal blood.
Chabi ends up not caring, though, because we later get confirmation (from Kaidu's mother, I think) that Chabi was common, herself. Chabi found a kindred spirit in Kokachin. She also resorts to the stable boy who looks something like her son, not just for the timing of a pregnancy, but because the series hints at Jingim being sterile (four wives and still no heirs).
