Please explain the injuries to the horses

I believe I missed something, when it was explained how the horses eyes were being injured. I came away thinking that Kokachin was doing it, during one of her hallucinations? That doesn't seem right...

She was doing it. Apparently she had a bit of a split personality, where she sometimes thought she was herself, and other times that she was the blue princess.

She was. She was nuts.

Thanks everyone. I thought she was doing it, but I wasn't sure... yeah, she lost her ish, in the end there... kinda disappointing.

Kokachin did it, in one her hallucinogenic states she did it thinking that by hurting the Khan's fastest horses no one would be able to catch her if she tried running away.

When I saw this thread, I thought maybe it was about the horses' backs. They seem so small to be carrying all those heavily armored Mongols.

Really I thought it was more psychological that that. Since she had slept with the stable boy in order to get pregnant and then felt guilty about his death, I thought that blinding the horses was so she could avoid feeling their gaze.

Lol, maybe I saw too much in it.
