Hmmm...I dunno. *minor spoilers*

There was something off about this first episode. I want to support Chloe Sevigny's career and all, but something about the plotting didn't make sense to me and that was a distraction.

*spoilers*

The thing that really threw off the momentum was how the security guard conveniently showed up at Catherine's house and knocks her out. How did he know who she was, and her being a copy and all...is her place of residence really that easily obtained? What's the explanation (he's private security and has access)?

Perhaps this is the Danish portion of the original coming out of the woodwork, it's not a plot development I wouldn't expected typically (didn't find it credible).

I'll keep watching to see how this comes along, but I hope there aren't any more weird missteps.

*end spoilers*

I like that things became interesting in making Thomas momentarily a "bad guy," but then shown that he was trying to gain a deeper understanding, and not actually becoming malevolent.

I don't like Thomas. How is it that he can leave his wife at night to do detective work unbeknownst to her? And how is it that he can stop teaching!!??? He is a CONSULTANT and yet he is with Catherine every day. THAT didn't sit right with me.

Suspension of disbelief required, I guess. I just found that while scene to be a bit implausible. I guess I wouldn't really know how often police persons get stalked and attacked without some research. I would assume that they'd go to greater lengths to protect their personal information than your average 8-5 employee.

Something simple like tailing her when she leaves the hospital. Then wait until Schaeffer leaves and he pounces.

I, too, liked what Schaeffer did with Jensen in the box. It added a dimension to his character. Reminded me of Patrick Jane of The Mentalist on his first consultation where he insulted the grieving father. Became more or less PJ's trademark.

For me, an "off" moment was when she had to use a flare to see in the warehouse, but had bolt cutters. What cop doesn't have a flashlight?

reply

Her flashlight failed her as she entered and tried to use it.

Ah, thanks. Somehow I missed that.
