season 5 episode 9

So they found Chick's body in the basement and he was killed while Norman was already in jail. Why wasn't there any more about that discovery? It's obvious Norman couldn't have killed him but they don't seem to be investigating it or wondering if maybe Chick's killer was also involved in the other murders.

Romero got Norman and his lawyer to go find Norma;s body. Predictions?
Will Romero kill Norman or vice versa?
When Emma took her mom's ashes up to the mountain to scatter them I half expected her to find Norma's body.
Emma could tell that she wasn't talking to Norman, she knew it was an alter,

reply

Them not talking more about Chick shows the show could've gone on at least a few episodes more to cover everything well.
And I don't think that was the lawyer Romero grabbed. I think that was the police receptionist

reply

I think they just assumed he's one of Norman's kills. Yeah, an autopsy would show the truth. But his body was just found in the house of a presumed/known serial killer, and any investigating would show they have a few ties to each other. At that point, there was no reason to suspect anyone else, so why heavily investigate it? Maybe they will, but there hasn't been enough time yet. Maybe Romero will out the truth (doubtful), if he lives long enough. And Norman probably wouldn't dispute the claim, he knows he can't remember everything.

I too thought that was the lawyer at first, until paying closer attention. Casting really went for a type it seems.

I imagine a scenario where Romero and Norman both died.

Yeah, Emma was very perceptive when speaking to Norman.

reply

If they had assumed Norman killed him, they would have listed his name in that preliminary hearing. With the list of victims/charges.
Time of death is pretty easily established when it is that fresh. (it's much harder when it's a long time ago and dumped in a lake, for example) Plus, he has a gunshot and they haven't ever found any evidence of Norman having a gun. So I mean if they were SUPER sloppy they might try to pin it on him but they didn't charge him with that murder at the hearing.

I was mixed up about the lawyer, she kind of looks like that receptionist.

reply

Yeah, I was surprised Chick's body wasn't more "investigated" and it seems another day went by and we should've seen an autopsy, but I don't think it really matters to them. They would figure the time of death, while Norman was in jail, but this isn't Law & Order or Criminal Minds. Also, Chick was shot - not Norman/Mother's MO.

I don't think that was the lawyer, Julia, if it is was I think she would've put up a fight, because she seems "edgy" to do and has always worn her hair back - that lady had her hair down.

Norman is "gone" and Mother has been in control, so I don't know if she'll honestly take Romero to Norma's body. I'm really unsure on how this is going to end and who is going to die.
