how does one day or twelve hours of killing per year fix our country?

Fix our economy, our crime rate, and our society? Anyone know cause all I got from the film that we all have psychological inner demons that want to come out and having this killing spree is what helps it? Uh that is hard to do, does anyone think that Ted Bundy, Richard Ramirez, John Wayne Gacy, Andrei Chikatilo, Luis Garavito, Ed Gein, Alfredo Ballí Trevino, Gary M. Heidnik and all these SF male and female all had a day where they could unleash their inner needs to kill, rape, torture, kidnap and cannibalizes their victims maybe they would have stayed as outstanding citizens for the rest of the year till next time, right?

How about the dudes like James Holmes could wait till Purge day to commit his crime at the movie theater.

Would all criminals be charged for their violent crimes? Or it won't happen cause since it was done during the Purge no crimes are charged?

I don't know who is more psychotic, the men and women in the government who promoted the idea had it passed or the MEN and WOMEN who voted the okay for this to be passed?

It doesn't help anything. The whole Purge is a blood magic ritual held on the Spring Equinox.

It doesn't solve a thing. But it's a movie, and a particularly stupid headed one at that, so don't spend to much effort overthinking it.
It's there for visceral thrills only and it works for that.

Considering the movie was set in the US, was filmed in the US, written and directed by a citizen of the US....I think it's appropriate for the OP to refer to it as 'our'.

In one of the deleted scenes, it shows that President Trump came up with the Purge idea, in order to make America great again!!
