Panic room.

A panic room would have been a lot more convinient for personal safety in those 12 hrs right?

So how will you build yours with the available resources you got.

I'd build mine with a simple 8x8 cinder block wall with a concrete ceiling and an air tight steel door, in the corner of my basement. An air vent with the intake/exhaust being somewhere outside the house, hidden in the garden. With a bed, car battery, water & light snacks, and what ever I could fit in. It can also double as a tornado shelter.

I'm sure, with the Sandin's income, they could have made one a lot better than mine.

I'd like to think I'd be friends with those super immature college kids and be out purging so they'd think I was cool.

The whole time I was thinking why didn't they have a panic room with some kind of anti-defense; gas, gun turrets around the house. actually the whole exterior of the house would be equipped w anti defense

That's what I'd do if I couldn't leave the country, it's safer than those stupid metal doors and I'd be 100% sure there was nobody else there because it'd be a much smaller space.
Agree with all the things you put in yours but I'd add kevlar panels, medical supplies, a ham radio, surveillance, soundproofing, keypad lock that my kids wouldn't know the code to, weapons, a generator, and plumbing.
