I think the boy is making a MORAL stand against the Purge
However, I too was annoyed, as many of you were, for letting the black man victim in. Then again, the boyfriend also made his way in before lockdown, so there was one threat already, right? The trouble is, I like child protagonists like the boy, but he is foolish under the circumstances - I mean, he's picked a VERY poor time to make a stand.
I'm rewatching this for the first time since 2013, and I'm finding it annoying. I have yet to watch Anarchy, but I have already seen Election Year, and found it just OK.
