 Okay, as you wish.

In all seriousness, I could only get 1 person to watch and I don't think she liked it. As great as Rectify is, it also moves slower paced than most series' and some people don't care for that. And my guess is that excellent acting isn't a priority either.

alot of people won't watch it because it isn't popular numbers wise, people aren't talking about it, except for the fans,
and we live in an age of instant gratifcation, 4 years too find out the truth is too long for some people,
hell, TWD people were crying out a cliff-hanger, and only had to wait, what, less then 6 months,
twitter is killing peoples attnetions spans

I like to think I'm being pretty objective here when I say that, although Rectify is certainly a slow-paced show, it has a kind of suspense to it, something inherently just gripping and riveting about it, which makes me not quite understand why it's regarded as SO inaccessible by many. I mean, I understand... it's not for everyone, or most people probably, but I don't think one has to be an art-cinema connoisseur to like Rectify. I think that the base humanity, the very real humanity of all the characters, just that in itself grips a lot of people with different tastes and interests, even if they don't know why they like it.

I dunno, I feel like even on a plot level Rectify has plenty of "entertainment" and suspense to offer, somewhat like Breaking Bad in the way it doesn't skip time between episodes. I think something like the back half of S2 is very suspenseful, actually. But maybe I'm just trying to convince myself it's more accessible than it is.

i think alot of people give up after season 1, or before the end of season 1,
maybe some were jilted there wasn't a resolution, or maybe sundance isn't as accessible, i don't know if it is naturally included on their channel,

i found it hooking from the first episode, but others have liked but weren't hooked until at least the end of drip, drip, which is a huge turning point in the world of rectify, on multiple occasions, ive had people say "omg he killed teddy"( you bastards),

maybe some dullards might find the show entertaining if their was a hospital backdrop, or a cop theme, but the theme really is about PTSD, and rebirth,
take something like greys anatomy, take out the unsecary melodrama, add good writing, after you take out the hospital setting, then trim the fat off the filler, and you are left with a 6 episode season compared to a 20-24 episode season,
then you got rectify

Like 1 host summarised it so brilliantly: "It's slow in pace, but not in content." 

Interesting that you've mentioned Breaking Bad, because Rectify often feel similar to the slower parts of Breaking Bad. 'Fly' has a very Rectifilian feel, and it's one of my favourites in that show. BrBa had a formula where the season would start off very slow, then speed up gradually though mid-season, until the pace became breathless in the last few eps. And even there people have complained about the slower parts, because even Breaking Bad isn't really mainstream.

I've also long suspected that introverts or at least very introspective, philosophically inclined people are more likely to click with Rectify. I also had that feeling with the other Sundance hits Top of the Lake, The Honourable Woman and Les Revenants. All those series have a certain introverted sensibility in their style.
