Okay.......what about the goatman?

And also Trey being in Daniel's house? And while I'm asking questions, Kerwin being in Daniel's cell after he was executed?

Regarding Trey in the house I thought that Daniel was dreaming during a nap. And Daniel was in a coma while the Kerwin scene happened, so that is understandable (as everyone knows, there is brain activity while in a coma).

But the goatman? All through the series Daniel has said "You're not real", "it's not real", "I'm not real." So was it a dream, a dark thought, or maybe subconcious. I doubt that the goatman ride literally happened, even though Daniel was dropped off at the balloon man (as he requested ) and then went in the tire store.

I apologize for the questions, but I'm in the dark with certain scenes.

he passed out after smoking his first joint in 20 years,
had a nightmare where the goatman was the devil
i think some did happen but not all

trey comming in the house was a red herring, we were supposed to think he stashed the gun while Daniel was sleeping,
but it coulda have also been a dream

The Goatman:

Parts of that adventure were certainly real. Recall that we see the clip of money the Goatman gave him from both Janet and Amantha's POV's. He tells them he doesn't know if it was "ill-gained." So there's objective proof he made that connection.

A few things to keep in mind:

- Daniel started out sleep-deprived;
- he smokes the Goat Man's weed;
- during the journey he falls asleep.

I think the idea is that things flow pretty loosely across the boundary between real and hallucinated, so that even when he seems to be awake not every moment can be assumed real. We know that drugs affect him strongly. Things occur that are real, but are elaborated. Add sleep deprivation, that's a powerful cocktail.

The front of the house the Goatman enters with the goat is almost identical to the Deans', in front of which Daniel had stood earlier, before the Goatman picked him up. There are two chairs, similar style architecture in general and in detail.

As they return to town the Goat Man says "This is your trip, but you're about to turn a 360." "Your trip" isn't only about a ride in a truck.

When the truck crosses the tracks - *ahem* - the red trailer is attached. But right after, when Daniel gets out and asks if the Man is real, the truck pulls away without the red trailer.

The entire what's real and not thing was used so often. Daniel definitely had a hard time accepting things now being free
