I'm speaking of the small things that the people are connected by. One the enormous amount of and variety of food they ate: from traditional southern cuisine to take-out Chinese, Murphy's Diner fare and even down to Trey's request for micro-wave kettle popcorn and a Coke {while being interrogated}. Second was the regional chauvinism between the southern states, the jokes or comments dissing Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and of course Georgia were wonderful little asides that also gave me a chuckle.
Food has always been if not central close to central as a sub theme, take the time they had willy D's, it was sorta a slight to Daniel, and the scene is a sad scene,
take the Second Willy d's scene, which was in the last 10 minutes of the show , everybody is happy and laughing,
Born and raised in Southern Tennessee. It's just a staple here. Everywhere you gather food. After church food. ALL holidays food. Birthdays food. Weddings food. Graduations food. Sunday night often family dinners. Most nights full round table family dinner. Food is a central focus of any southern gathering. Not sure why just the way it is.
It's that way here, too, in NYC, but what they eat on the show, the names of the restaurants, the comments made about other states, all of that was new to me, and very interesting.
what was it they presented mr pickles with at the end, i heard him say "cob" which to mean means corn on the cob to me,
Food is a staple everywhere, that it can be afforded, especially around this time of year, comfort food, and no just cuz i am in the great white north, doesn't mean i just eat macaroni and cheese covered with maple syrup and ketchup chips on the side,
Idk man I do loves me somes corns. But. I know food is a staple everywhere lol. I wasn't taking away from any other region I just meant in the south it's a bit different. Hell just look at obesity rates by region jahaha
