1. can supermans heat vision penertrate cap marvel/shazams invulnerability seemed odd that essentially concentrate heat could break through a powerful magical invulnerability

2. does grundy ever have knives in his back in the comic, all the versions I have seen have never shown grundy like this, was it just for the game

3. exactly which race is stronger atlantians, martian, amazons or kryptonians(under a yellow sun) I always assumed the first three were not as strong as superman

1)Just using assumptions, but I can think of a couple ways it could be explained. Superman possibly used a focused burst of Heat Vision and that played a part. Perhaps Captain Marvel's powers were weakened due to his following Superman. The latter is less likely, with but you never know. Either way it offered the shocking visual the story writers were looking for. I mean yeah, it's one of his main weaknesses, but it's just something you let slide for the sake of the visual it offered.

2) Like with most characters, it's up to the people doing the artwork how any character ends up looking or how their origin plays out. I have a few early books with Grundy just wearing shorts and others with him in a full tattered suit.

3) The way I have understood it, current era Superman is around the same strength as Martian Manhunter, maybe a little stronger. He and Wonder Woman are basically on the same tier, and with Atlantians they are strong on land, but near Superman's level when in water.
