Season 1 was smart, funny, and poignant. What else could explain the difference in Season 2?

More likely the ABC PTB sent the writing staff to some kind of re-education camp where innovation and the ability to write well were (very successfully) beaten out of them.

I so agree that they took a dive. It's too bad.
