Why Meryl and not bernadette?
Anyone know why bernadette couldn't reprise her role as the witch?
shareThey probably wanted a more well-known Hollywood name for the Witch to draw in crowds. Bernadette Peters is incredibly talented and a great performer, but she is mostly known for her stagework and isn't widely recognised outside of that sphere. It's a shame though :(
shareAs wonderful as Meryl was and as great a choice as I think she was, it would have been very interesting to see Bernadette take another crack at it. Perhaps it's time for another reunion concert!
shareMe too! She rocked the role, since she originated it, and I would love to have seen the reunion concert live. Still, Meryl was great!
