If you want to see how amazing this musical is, please watch it. It's on YouTube and it's brilliant. I saw the movie and wasn't excited when my drama teacher put on the original Broadway cast. Needless to say, this is now one of my favorite musicals and this show changed my mind completely.
By now she should be able to pay for acting lessons! Everytime she was on the screen I became very uncomfortable and more than nauseated. And the drip who plays Cinderella..SNOORE. Personality of a slug. The twit who plays Riding Hood should be flipping burgers at an out of the way Jack in the Crack. My eardrums have never recovered from her screeching. The only part I enjoyed was watching the blond prince getting on and off his horse in those leather pants. Was hoping for a close up, the only reason I endured this nightmare.
KSF, you'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Yelling at people and saying "My word is law," (which, let's face it, in an internet comment is not the case) is not a way to make friends and influence people. Even though the previous commenter was not very nice in their assessment of Anna Kendrick that doesn't mean that all caps and multiple exclamation points is the right reaction.
I thought everyone did great in their roles. Red Riding Hood was a little loud and screechy at times, but that was part of her character in Act One, so you can't blame the actress as she was merely staying true to the character on stage.
Jack was a little unclear at times in his diction, so you would have to have already known the lyrics (which I did) before watching the movie.
Anna Kendrick was fantastic as an ambivalent Cinderella, who didn't know what she wanted. I know this Cinderella was very different from the princessy dreamer you no doubt had in mind while watching this movie, but it shouldn't mean calling Anna a drip.
