They were dropping 'real' incendiary bombs. Not a few white phosphorous rounds to mark targets or create a smoke screen but things that looked like globes of fire being dropped. Imagine a cluster bomb detonating above a city & each 'cluster' was on fire and dozens of them floated down trailing smoke & flame to land on an area the size of a city block. Now mind you...seeing as how the Rebels/IS/AQ seems to also have no compulsion in blowing up whole city blocks, there doesn't seem to be too many people I can root for.
