car driven by Amber Heard?

What kind of Renault was Amber Heard driving?

reply

I think it was a Peugeot.

reply

Peugeot RCZ. Just found it. I wish it was available in the US.

reply

Cool looking ride.

reply

The Peugeot RCZ is sold in Australia and is generally regarded as a pretty terrible car. Weak engine, spongy handling, poor interior design, poor ergonomics and chronically unreliable. Like all French cars. I believe they sold less than 500 last year in Australia. There are many good reasons why they are not sold in the US.

reply

Terrible car?
I have one and I have owned Peugeot RCZ for years. Nothing has gone wrong with it, nothing. Everything works like it should for a three year old car.

I haven't seen any car (except supercars like Ferrari or Lamborghini) to turn heads like this.

Peugeot really nailed it with this!

I think the car that Vivian had was rather awesome.

reply

Well, when you tell "for years" I expected more than three. And I don't know how long you keep up with a car, but there's a lot people driving 10 years old Merc, BMWs, VW and the majority of those cars are in far better condition than any Peugeot. French cars are a joke, with very very few exceptions.

EDIT July 2016: I was going trough my posts for some reason and I saw this pretty silly comment of mine. After two years it turned out to me that the french cars are one of the most reliable and comfortable cars from all so I apologize for hating only from what I've heard.

reply

I also have 20 year old Peugeot 306. And that works as well.
You are just one of the "French car haters". The web is full of them and majority has no experiences with those cars. I have 20 years since 306 was my first car. I have since owned a BMW 320 followed by VW Passat as a nr.1 car. Sadly they had more troubles despite their higher price than my old 2nd car 306 so I decided to switch back to Peugeot. And after 3 years of troublefree ownership I guess I never go back to expensive German cars...

I had one too. Loved it. Devalued badly when it came time to trading it off, As most 2 door roundabouts do.

reply

pretty terrible car=wrong

Weak engine=wrong (bmw/psa/mini) 280nm 200bhp from 1700tr/min

spongy handling=wrong 1300kg great transmission

poor ergonomics and chronically unreliable=wrong, very reliable as made in a great factory (im not talking about Peugeot)

Like all French cars=wrong, just look at Formula one or WRC etc... France and UK are major leaders in competition.

summary: go buy a car first, and after that maybe you can open your mouth, kid.
ps: i'm not even an usual buyer of Peugeot.

do not respond to me, "conversation" is over, you know the anti-French thing...

reply

Agree , a typical french car, and the specific one looks more like a Chinese made copy of the Audi R8.

reply

People who say "typical french car" have ever owned one. And they keep repeating the lie until they believe it themsselves too. Dr. Goebbels' lessons have learned well.

reply

People like you are the worst kind, you make things up out of nothing , and you present them as facts....and on the top of that you believe them too.
You know nothing about me and yet you make claims, thats how irrational and stupid you are.

Did you mean that all those things were like most French cars, or just the "chronically unreliable" part?

reply

Don't you hate it when you are looking at a name on a screen and typing at the same time and type that name instead of the correct one?

reply

you must have been looking at this "name on the screen" for a while seeing as you typed it wrong twice. first in the subject line and again in the body.

reply

Does it really matter? I was doing homework while doing this posting and the person I was writing about in the homework was named Amanda.

I was writing about the car.

As others already answered it is a Peugeot RCZ. Not as rare in Eu on daily sights, as its flare might suggest in US movie. Specially for US folks. This is somewhat typical way for mid class car to attract funding for, say those with reasonable budget looking for a city looker at their 30’s, but Peugeot certainly do not mind for other ages to be attracted as well.

The body essence of generic 308, not as criticism, but point of origin. Visual driving dynamics are more in service of looks then really indication of driving abilities. Since Car design authenticity is in crisis since late 90’s, I can understand why some are attracted by its looks. Formulated shape to possibly attract Audi TT customers with more reasonable spending proposition

For the truly last authentic design in sport domain from Peugeot, type : 1995. Peugeot 406 Coupe Pininfarina, or simply : http://tinyurl.com/lqo74ll

This model was also not the best example of truly sport Coupe (in driving sense), but design essence and timeless elegance engraved by Pinifarina is still intact, and design wise, well respected even in circles of those who do not even care about French cars. Design with substance, where human hand decides on shape rather then machines.

RCZ is a typical cartoonish type of approach where house design is simply attracted with adolescent and kitschy decorations which are essential to our popular culture of looks without substance, or soul if you will. Much like this movie, clearly targeted at the same audience. Looking at the young Heard actress next to Costner, I’m thinking almost, kindergarten audience. Girl of her age used to be Hero’s young daughter in 80’s. Today she is the main nemesis, or something equally far-fetched in present action movies. I would say, the right for the right driver, and for the right audience.

I don't really care about cars, but I have to say: It doesn't reek of credibility for a female CIA agent to be driving through a foreign city at insane speeds in a sports car, wearing a surreal blonde wig -- especially when she's simply having a conversation. Way to lay low.

IMDb-boards would be less confusing if people would mark their signatures clearly.

Sure was a beauty.
