If the primary reason that she wants to hire him as an assassin is because of the fact he is a dying man with nothing to lose (and THAT is what makes a great assassin), then why would she give him a cure that would give him hope? Kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it?

She made a big thing about how he is the only one who knew what the baddie looked like so that was why she wanted his help but then that kind of went out the window.

I think that she did that just to keep him in good shape, or otherwise he won't kill anyone. He knows that he needs a constant dosis, so that's his motivation.
