Christmastime & Prom?

So this may be a random question, but when is prom in France (or Europe, I suppose)? I ask because I really don't know. Here in the States, our proms are generally at the end of the school year. I guess I shouldn't speak for everyone, but my prom was at least. In the movie, two big themes are Christmas and prom, so I was a little surprised to see the two together. Just curious. Thanks in advance!! :)

Renner's daughter going to her prom and the end of the movie at Christmas are several months apart. It appeared to be Spring or Fall time during most of the movie in Europe.

At the end, once Wolf goes down, Renner and his daughter probably hide out for a few months on the island until his wife and Vivi show up.
