Could of been a great movie IF...

...the gratuitous murder and violence, the extreme high-tech settings of said gratuitous violence, and the sociopathic sex kittens were eliminated.

In other words, if they cast it in a more realistic setting with real human beings, other than the protagonist, his family and the couple of somewhat comical villains.

It really angered me what the albino did to the female agent at the beginning. If it's pg-13, my 13-year-old should be able to watch the movie without me telling her to look away. They've really become bad with violence these days.

Why would you tell your kid to look away, there was no actual killing on screen which I think was made very well. There was a build up with his monolog with her, he was creepy as FFFK. She wasnt gored or anything so that violence scene was done well. 13 year olds are able to watch tv series like American Horror Story or Sons of Anarchy if you are going to use the PG13 rating.

AHS and SOA are way more violent and gory than this movie. They added the comedic father/daughter flick to it which made this movie more comedic and less violent overall.

Yes, there is actual killing on screen. Just because they didn't pull the body away so you could see that her head was gone or have a bunch of blood splatter everywhere doesn't mean it wasn't on screen. Anyone who has eyes could see what was going on and it doesn't take imagination to know that the elevator was dropping on her head. That is extremely violent for PG-13.

You seem to be assuming that I find American Horror Story or Sons of Anarchy appropriate for my 13-year old. That's not the case at all. In fact, I agree with you that they are worse and won't let my kids watch them at all.

I didn't let her watch that part, by the way, not the whole movie.

So yes, I will tell my kids to look away at crap like that because, and maybe I'm one of the few remaining fathers who feel this way these days, I won't let them watch such needless violence at that young of an age. And if you don't think that 13 is young, that only means that you yourself haven't reached adulthood yet.

I'll parent my kids how I please, thank you.
