Wrong lead?
Would this film's tone come together well if our protagonist was Steve Carell or Simon Pegg doing their comedy bit? I think that would work a lot better with its script and especially with Amber Heard parts.

He was a "Fixer" "Cleaner" hit Man by Profession... And Married to Connie Nielsen. So the Feminine, comedic, harmless, leads suggested fall way short of character minimum- of leading man being a Man. Most of the funny events were that he was an American, "cowboy" and stuck mentally in the 80's macho, old school ways- trying to get along in Paris. If you know Kevin Costner - See " Revenge" or "No Way Out"- then you will appreciate how Funny some of the undertones were in this above average film.
