So why doesn't he just take some vodka with him?

I'm usually not the one to find plot holes, but this bugs me:

Drinking vodka completely calms down his whole heart trouble-hallucination thing. After maybe the 2nd or 3rd time he gets the nosebleeding, can't go on and almost dies, it doesn't occur to him to simply BRING SOME DAME VODKA ALONG with him?

Same here.....

I thought the exact same thing. Another burning question - why employ the one terminally ill ex-CIA agent to kill for you when a) you seem extremely capable yourself b) you are the one giving him all the tip offs about the targets location? This film made no sense.

I guess Amber Heard was just a typical empty suit middle manager. Only reason I can fathom.

Conquer your fear, and I promise you, you will conquer death.

I don't disagree with your questions/comments, except to say that I don't think the film was designed to be taken all that seriously.

She employed him because she believed that he had seen Wolf's face during the Belgrade job and no one else knew what he looked like.

Vodka bottles can easily break when you're on a mission that involves running and had-to-hand combat. They're also heavy enough to slow you down and not small enough to fit in your pocket.

It's called a flask, I wasn't talking about bringing a whole bottle along with him.

It's called a flask...
Yeah a little metallic hip flask.

Maybe its illegal to carry a bottle of vodka outside or Costner did not want anyone to think he was a drunk!

Its that man again!!

reply

Good point. Damm good point. Just a small metal flask in the back pocket and your home free. Good thinking!

Yep...that is one of the retarded plot hole in this turd fest of a movie.

If I get a headache and take a paracetamol, the tablet box instructs me NOT to consume alcohol with it. Ethan gets a form of brain cancer and the medicine requires that you take alcohol with it "to take the edge off..."
Hmmm...
