I feel bad for Penny's son.

He's going to bury his mother before he graduates from high school, if not sooner.

Yes that was so sad and pathetic. Penny and her husband are selfish individuals and they aren't thinking about the boy at all. The husband is maybe the biggest enabler I've seen on the show. Basically they both just laughed at the help the doctor and nutritionist were trying to give. Their behavior was disgusting and he needs to grow a pair and refuse to give her unhealthy food or she's going to die, period. I really feel for the kid, he probably won't have a mother by the time he graduates, you are right.

Penny was like a child and so was Edgar. That kid is gonna be so messed up. He probably doesn't even know it's possible to have a mom who isn't bed ridden. I wouldn't be surprised if Penny doesn't see him make it to the 5th grade. That episode was taped 2013 and he was about to start 1st grade in the coming months. I hated watching her cry those crocodile tears about how hard she was trying but was still eating deep fried food. What kind of idiot thinks deep frying of any capacity would be healthy lol. I laughed so hard when Edgar said that.

Yeah that was hilarious. I laughed hard when he said that, then it hit me that he was actually serious. He's (probably her too and a billion other people) The kind of person that will drench their salad with thick creamy dressing and still consider it "healthy" because it's a salad and it might have chicken in it.

reply

Lol right. As much as I love creamy cesar, I haven't eaten it in a few years because it has so much fat in it. I now only eat oil based dressing and I surely never was a drencher. Penny and Edgar think they have it all figured out though. Too bad poor Liam will be the biggest casualty

In Milla's episode she was deep frying chicken or nuggets right there at the edge of the bed.

Oh yea they're totally the type to smother iceberg lettuce in cheese, bacon and creamy dressing and call it a "healthy salad".

I felt sorry for the little boy whose mother had him putting a load of clothes in the washing machine and he could barely reach up and over to put them in. I don't know if she was the one who also had the disabled older son with cerebral palsy that sometime later passed away.

I think youre speaking about Ashley, she was the one who looked surreal with her giant bloated face. Her son was doing the chores for her, then she guilt tripped him about him starting kindergart and leaving her home alone during the day.

Dottie was the one with the disabled son. She might've had issues, but I thought it clearly showed she loved him.

Boy, do I feel badly for Penny's son, Liam. He is truly the blameless victim in that cluster *beep*, while his mother AND father remain enmeshed in a toxic relationship of manipulation, enabling, and denial.

The update episode may have pissed me off more than the original. Penny had every opportunity given to her and squandered it while thinking she was doing significantly better. She remained bed-ridden, incessantly couponing, under the guise of saving money, but it's mostly an excuse to eat whatever. She thinks occasionally getting out of her bed to sit in a wheelchair means she's living a normal life, particularly when she watched a little bit of Liam's trick or treating. The show said she gets out, what? Once every month or two months!

I just do not see how anyone can continue to be so destructive when their young child should be enough to stop the madness. You have a young child you're hurting terribly, Penny. That's when I have zero sympathy--to waste the help and continue to hurt one's own child... smh. If Penny never "gets it," Liam will very likely lose his "mother" before junior high school.

reply

If she dies that will be the best thing that ever happened to Liam, he will finally have a life.

reply

You know, I was thinking just that but didn't say it. If she never gets better, he'd be better off with her gone. He'll be wiping her ass, tendting to her every whim when he gets a little older. When I said Penny gets out once every month or two, I meant OUT OF BED, not out of the house. Liam doesn't need to see this for the rest of his upbringing, and one way or another, it needs to end.
