Good God, what is wrong with that man's legs? What the hell is that?

reply

Ooh, boy... the juxtaposition of watching "Good Eats" and thinking I'm hungry and then watching that trailer. It seems so mean to fill the bulk of the trailer with these people without clothes.

Anywho, my guess is that guy has a whopper of an infection, secondary to severe lymphedema. Skin basically can't take the swelling, so the skin gets damaged, and infection ensues.

Add: Here's a good guess of what it is. Mostly describes what I posted, but more medical: elephantiasis verrucosa nostra.

A Google image search reveals maybe that is it.

I decided to watch again (I'm getting further and further away from finally eating dinner), and maybe it's severe cellulitis...? It's not terribly red, but cellulitis with healing spots and new abscesses may look like that. Lymphedema is definitely worsening whatever it is or outright causing it.

That's it. I'm outta bullets, lol.

EVN sounds like the disease.

We'll all just have to wait and see what's wrong with that man's skin. The brief look I got, reminded me of a patient with neurofibromatosis. The other areas could be some skin disease like Lichen Planus. IDK.There also appears to be an extreme raw spot on his left side. The lymphedema must be extraordinarily painful,to say the least.

reply

When I saw the first brief shot of his leg, it reminded me of neurofibromatosis too! I cannot imagine how badly that hurts. 

reply

Think it might be lymphedema my mother had it. Yes many overweight people have it but some babies have it also. In fact some thin people suffer from it. Dogs can even get it and there is no cure.

reply

Oh yeah, the guy definitely has lymphedema. Very badly.
