Others shed most weight in year or two after surgery ?
I'm rewatching old episodes , I think Melissa's took several years too

They had to churn them out faster to satisfy TLC after the first couple were a hit.

Yeah, it wasn't that Ashley took longer. They just made it more like a miniseries originally, where Ashley, Melissa, and Donald (I believe his name was) were followed for seven years. Now, it's all about churning out many people much faster and creating new episodes for updates. Not to mention, they've even decided to make episodes two hours lately.
