As the episode continues I hate her sister even more. It must take a lot of work to be that miserable of a person
She has dealt with Erica a long time -- she's 44. Sister said the weight, hoarding and irrational thinking is a sign of mental illness. Erica needed an intervention decades ago. She may have burned out sister.

I thought that too. She tried to strong arm her brother and I think the sister got tired of her attitude too. share
There's something off about Erica. She's trying to come off as sincere, but I'm not buying all of it. There has to be a reason why her sister is treating her the way she is.
shareErica obviously has problems, and I can see how it would be hard to deal with her, but sister Molly is absolutely horrible to her and certainly doesn't help make the situation any better. The snotty, negative comments never stop flowing from her mouth.

I agree she seemed a little off. But she had a lot of emotional/mental issues and that was obvious. Her whole family seemed to have some kind of issues.
Her sister was a flat out piece of Sh*t!! Regardless of her sisters past or their relationship, she should have supported her better. She just seemed so fake.
I'm changing my opinion because I watched the program again and I kept waiting for an explanation as to why Erica's sister was being so evil towards her and nothing was explained. Even if the sister was fed up with Erica, there was no reason at all for her to be so mean to her. When Erica was beaming because she lost weight, she had such a sweet smile on her face, like a child, then her idiot sister had to ruin the moment by saying she should have lost more. The sister is an a-hole and she is being ripped a new one on TLC's Facebook page.

shareErica and her brother and sister are emotionally flat. They don't seem to express much emotion -- happy, sad whatever. And they don't seem to have much empathy. There's also a lot of passive aggression. I wonder what that's all about?

I thought the issue they may have with her is the issue many of us have with those on this show. Erica has apparently lived off of assistance for years with free rent, free food, free everything, while they had to work and struggle. I also got that impression they were fed up with her being a pain in their butt for years. share
True. She can't fathom how he will choose his livelihood and working over her needs. She clearly has assistance coming in, she hasn't had to support anyone........she just can't wrap her mind around why he didn't just jump at her requests.
shareYes!! I just posted this! They have spent almost half their lives being taken care of, essentially waited on hand and foot. It's about them 24/7. What they need, not what anyone else needs.
Erica saying they "made" her buy an entire row on the plane, as if we should pity her. She doesn't get or care that anyone else in that row would be totally uncomfortable and inconvenienced sitting next to her?

shareWhile watching, I thought this, too:: Damn, her family is HARSH!! Then I realized they've been dealing with Erica's bs for a *lifetime* and have heard her empty promises to change repeatedly. No, they didn't come off great on camera, but she needed people to stand up TO her. I don't know that I'd ever be able to be so 'cold' to a family member, no matter what, but I can't fault them. Erica brought it all on herself.
