It seems like they are covering up more product names this season. When Doug was at the grocery store, it was one big blur. I also noticed he had a band-aid covering up what appeared to be a 7-Up tattoo.

I imagine they covered up so those companies don't have to get paid for exposure.

I thought the companies paid for the exposure, not the other way around. Isn't the idea of product placement to promote a product?

Yeah this show certainly wouldn't be good advertisement for ANY product!!! It would be like "if you buy this product, you will soon look like these people"....

Not every company wants exposure on this show. If I were selling fattening food, I wouldn't want it shown here because it's in a negative way. Plus, the producers may not want to pay an amount those companies require for payment to be shown here. Both have to agree to the exposure and price of it.
