I liked that very subtle hint the dying dude gave at the end
it is a bit of a mismatch - Kerri Russell is super gorgeous hot and Matthew whatever his name is is like some random dude you pass on the street. I was so surprised to see they have hooked up in real life. But the writers did use that and it will probably be early next season where FBI man (sorry Im awful with names) will have a moment where he looks at the two of them and pauses to ponder
I feel like Matthew Rhys is very attractive. Also I have been a fan of Keri Russell's since the MMC days, and I have always thought she was pretty. I think they go great together!
shareMatthew Rhys, as most UK actors, is intense and incredibly gifted as a dramatic artist. Actually, he is a better actor than Keri Russell. His artistic talent makes him more appealing than if he were simply a handsome, superficial, ordinary Hollywood star. I also think he is sexy and very attractive in a masculine, Euro way. On screen, he projects a moody complexity that causes the audience to watch his slightest movement. He steals most scenes he is in with other actors. I've always thought Kerry Russell was very lucky to be Matthew Rhys' girl friend. I'm sure her connection to him is what will propel her career.

shareInteresting..But as a straight woman I would say I've always found Keri Russell to be very pretty..But Mathew (while not traditionally handsome) is not some random dude. There's something very appealing and sexy about him..It's in his persona, his charisma..but he's not as plain as you seem to think.
Haven't even guys seen a beautiful woman that lost a lot of appeal when you saw their way of handling themselves or their lack of charisma and sex appeal or even the blankness in their eyes... while a less physically obvious woman might come across as red hot?
I think it's that way with both genders. Appeal is deeper than skin.
Not sure, though, why some of the replies have to insult one of the pair of actors to uplift the other.

Since we don't know their private life it's impossible to know who the lucky one is.

First of all, I disagree that their level of looks don't match up as wildly as you think (the OP). While I do think Keri Russell is very pretty, I also think that he's not a bad looking guy. It's completely conceivable that they are a couple and it's nuts to think that the FBI guy would look at them and be suspicious. It's not like she's married to DJ Qualls.
Having said that, my second point is, looks aren't always part of why people love each other in real life or fiction. And no I'm not talking about money and gold digging either, I'm talking about there are lots and lots of people who fall in love with the person and shared values, and out of that, the physical attraction grows.
