That depends on the type on infection she has. They said that the cordyceps had mutated granting her immunity, but she still was a carrier. However, I don't remember there being a mention that she ever infected anyone. She was around Joel for a year and he didn't get infected. It might even be possible, that being in contact with Ellie gives others the same immunity that she has, but that's only speculation.
