Why Anna Kendrick Says Ben Affleck Is 'Really Normal-Sauce'

"He's very smart and very funny and is definitely a practical actor," Kendrick tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "He comes to work to get his job done and to make the best movie possible but is still really normal-sauce off-camera."

"The idea of the world's sexiest, most dangerous accountant is certainly the kind of delicious dichotomy that makes for a great movie," says Kendrick. "The plot is definitely like a puzzle. I was there when we filmed it and still, the second time I watched the movie I was like 'Oh, it's even better the second time.' "

But just because Kendrick may play a character entrenched in the world of numbers doesn't mean she's a natural born math whiz.

"Oh my god no, it's so embarrassing," she jokes. "My mom is an accountant, so I gave her the script and was like, 'Can you please help me understand what is happening in this movie?' I basically managed to retain as much information as she gave to me for the duration of the filming and the second we were done it was like my brain dropped this proverbial 50 pound bag I'd been carrying around. And it was like 'I'm never picking that up again.'

Oh i wish. As an aspiring writer i would love the opportunity to sit down and talk with Ben, pick his brain. Would you mind sending Warner Brothers my messages and suggesting that they hire me?

Oh please, in what universe would drunk bag Affleck be the world's sexiest anything. Why is he even still acting? I thought we were rid of him after Argo. Benny you can't act. Never could, never will. It's like he's trying to become Tom Cruise or George Clooney. Stop wasting your energy and our time, go home to Jen whose the better actor in the family!,

You dwell on his acting in effort to ignore his amazing talents at directing and writing. His acting is fine, although nothing special, certainly fine and above average. He was also at one point declared worlds sexiest man, kinda disproves your statement doesn't it?

I wouldn't have used Clooney nor Cruise as an example, their not that great.

I used George and Tom because despite not being the best of actors, they are at top of Hollywood's food chain which Ben is not. He's a good screenwriter and director, and he should stick to that. He should stop making us suffer through him on screen. It's like he has some agenda to outdo Matt or something. Who is the better of all the actor's mentioned. Sorry Ben you tried now go sit in the director's chair.

I reallllyy wish they'd gotten an older, more attractive actress for this role. I know she's 30 but Anna comes off immature and an odd choice in a costar for Affleck. BTW, she's been talking about him a lot in interviews; moreso than I'd expect even for costars; seems like she's got a bit of a crush on him.

I wasn't sold on Kendrick at first however warmed up to the idea after finding out that she won't be a 'love interest'.

I'm glad she's not a love interest but her being in the movie at all bugs me; she's just not my cup of tea.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.
