The critics slamming this movie as preposterous

are mostly the same critics that heaped praise on the ridiculous Fast & Furious series...........for being preposterous.

Wonder why the extremely silly and ultra OTT one, chock-full of corny jokes and bad acting, gets the pass, but the lesser ridiculous movie ( The Accountant ) gets insulted and dissed for these very same purported reasons.

SPIRAL OUT!........KEEP GOING!

They dont have the ball to say FF series bad cause public love that kinda dumb *beep* but the accountant gotno fanbase, its a easy target

I also gotta call horse *beep* on this double standard. These cats are happy to suspend disbelief when costumed heroes endowed with all sorts of superpowers are doing all sorts of ridiculous *beep* but are taken out of a movie where an accountant knows hi way around a gun?  *beep* off.

Just came from seeing the movie. The critics were trying too hard.

The F&F movies are silly and you know that going into it. This movie is a real serious thriller and so it has to meet a higher standard. It had some good action in it and good performances from pretty much everyone but there was a lot they didn't explain and some of the twists in the move were ridiculous. Also it felt, more the most part, very predictable and there were definitely some action movie cliches that a better script would've avoided.

It's a slightly better-than-average thriller and not much else. I'd give like a 6.9/10.

I feel like the answer is fairly simple...the FF series appeals to everyone because it's not primarily a white cast. The critics are notoriously very liberal and definitely give those films a huge pass, with that being a factor. You think they are really going to like an action movie with Ben Affleck, JK Simmons, Anna Kendrick, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jon Lithgow?

I saw the movie and didn't think it was preposterous, I saw the twist coming a mile away, but it really didn't detract from the experience. Thought it was a fun and well done character study that happened to have excellent action sequences
