Okay, so Affleck was good and all...

But the Trivia section said this was originally intended as a starring role for Mel Gibson with the Coen brothers directing. Now maybe I'm just biased because I'm such a big Lethal Weapon fan, but COME ON! Who else would LOVE to see that?!

it would have been more like Drive in that case

Mel Gibson is no good with numbers ; he can't count the money in his wallet at the start of Lethal Weapon ( Christmas tree scene ).

Ha-ha, touche.

We also have to rule out Clint Eastwood, because Dirty Harry can't even count to six.

Wow. One just doesn't realize these things till one really thinks about them. What's with all the great action stars of the 70s and 80s not knowing crap about math?

Ben was a much better choice for this...

Casting was outstanding, including Anna Kendrick. She was the perfect spark-plug of an extrovert to Chris' autistic introvert. One of my top 4 actresses, along Amy Adams, Emma Stone and Jessica Chastain.

I agree she did well. Don't always like every role of hers but she does well in all the parts she gets. Definitely one of the day's best young actresses, along with the others you mentioned.

Despite the Coons, that would not have been as good. Gibson is too short, fat and old to be believable as a soldier or an accountant these days.
