This rom-com had real possibilities, and wonderful characters. Such a shame to have it devolve into such a pedestrian and pointless ending.

I adore Michelle Monaghan, in every way possible. And Chris Evans has been a favorite ever since The Losers. The two of them together deserved a far more inventive denouement.

Give me two weeks and pay me the WGA rate for a polish, and I'll deliver a dynamite ending that suits the story and the players. The one they have now feels like a last-minute surrender to a blown deadline.

I felt the same. The movie was fine until it went for that lame ending. No problem having the main couple come together, but this ending was not what the rest of the movie earned.
