I believe Chilli slept with LA. That isn't something that just came out that rumor has been out here in Atlanta for over 20 years. People forget LA brought Chilli to Pebbles.. it wasn't anything like the movie tried to present. He knew her first and set up her meeting with Pebbles. There is an interview on youtube from 2011 or 2012 and the guy interviewing flat-out asked Pebbles about the rumor and she says.. "I'm not going to entertain that whatever happened in the past is in the past I love Chilli." I think Pebbles was trying to be the bigger person until she got attacked and now she is telling how she really feels. I think both TBoz, Chilli and Pebbles are all telling their own versions of the truth.
They tried to make Lisa such a tortured soul in the movie and glossed over their own drama. Yes Lisa drank and was flamboyant but they didn't show how she influenced a lot of their style, named every album, and was so generous to those around her. She was complex but not "crazy". Chilli had already talked about her abortion some years back so that wasn't really a revelation. Chilli was busy sleeping around Hollywood and even got herself a movie deal back in '96 that fell through. Lisa and Tionne were quick to keep it moving without Crystal so I'm sure they probably were behind Chilli being kicked out of the group. They didn't involve Lisa's family at all; but then say Lisa would have loved the film. Chilli and Tionne needed this movie to happen to jump-start their careers. They got a new record deal and huge press from this.
I think the movie was cool for what it was and most all biopics deviate from the truth anyway.
I agree. The movie showed each member's own problems outside of the group, while giving an explanation why those things happened...well at least with Chilli and TBoz. They treated Left Eye like a background character at times, while Chilli & TBoz were mains. Though what they showed of Lisa was true (She did drink heavily @ times, did burn down the house, & did distance herself from the group), they never showed WHY she did most of those things. They didn't show how Andre was abusive to her. They didn't show that Lisa felt that she wasn't being used much & no one was really listening to her ideas in the later years, which is why she sought out a solo career. They didn't show how Lisa built a camp in Honduras for the kids and was very giving.
Now as a TLC fan, most would already know that, and know how Lisa was a big factor in the group's creativity. But to people who don't know them that well, or 30 years from now (since they want this movie out forever), people want to find out about TLC, Lisa will come across as selfish and very troubled.
I also didn't like how in the end before Lisa left for Honduras, they showed Tboz & Chilli in the background, both talking to her like things were so okay between them. When in actual reality, Tboz last saw and talked to Lisa when Lisa visited her in the hospital and Chilli and Lisa weren't even speaking prior to her death.
The movie was not 100% true like TLC is claiming it to be. As for Pebbles, only like 10% of what she said on Wendy, I could see being true. The rest was run- around.

Yeah that part can be confusing, especially to people who saw the up to date BTM interview where Chilli herself said that she tried to get in contact with Lisa before she went to Honduras. I'm assuming that because Lisa went to see T-Boz they did try to patch things up.

Lisa and Tionne were always closer than her and Chilli were. I think a lot of the dynamic in the ground changed when Lisa outgrew them. She had evolved spiritually and was no longer the silly joke-riddled young girl... she was becoming a woman. Honestly I feel Lisa stayed in TLC longer than she should have due to contractual obligations. Back when Lil' Kim was poppin' and Lisa was hanging with her and Missy was when she should've went solo. Her time had passed by the time Supernova came about. Tionne's sultry voice and Chilli's exotic looks weren't enough to complete the dynamic without Lisa; I'm curious how their new album will sell.
speaking of their new album, i don't think they should use the name TLC without lisa being able to be in the group
if they're going to make new music together, they should call themselves t-boz and chili, not tlc. it just wouldn't be right to use the 'tlc' name without the L
On their updated BTM Tboz kept saying how she can't bear to do another album w/o Lisa and how they need to let it go. Flashfoward 10 years later and she is bankrupt again she is all pro TLC.
I agree. I think these other posters are speaking this way because Lisa is dead. Lisa wanted to do something different anyway. If she "outgrew" them than what difference does it make?
If Lisa was alive and left the group they probably would've found another member (and it probably wouldn't work).

I don't think anyone here has a problem with them moving on without Lisa and I'm sure they would have still moved on with the two of them had Lisa still been alive. I just don't think they can really use the TLC name anymore because there is no longer and L. And it seems obvious that the remaining members are at different points in their lives. One wants to continue on the other wants to go solo and write music.
Lisa outgrew them but had she lived I'm sure she would still be apart of TLC in some form. Maybe not making new music but I'm sure she would have been down with touring with them.
Lisa wanted to do something different and now Tionne wants to do something different. The only one still stuck on milking TLC is Chilli.

I happen to agree. You can't really call them TLC anymore because the L is no longer there. So they should just change it to T-Boz and Chill or Tionne and Chilli.

I don't think T-Boz is bankrupt. At one time during her show Totally Tionne, she said she wanted to go solo. It was Chilli who wanted keep TLC going and she kind of got mad at Tionne because she wanted to do other things. Sort of like how they both got mad at Lisa because she wanted to go solo.
Here's the episode where T-Boz and Chilli talk about TLC:
I totally agree. There is no TLC without Lisa...I will always believe she was the heart of the group. As a 42 year old mother of a 13 year old daughter. It makes me happy to see how much she and her friends love TLC.
She tried to but her album Supernova didn't come out in the States. So because Arista wouldn't release Supernova in the States she had to look elsewhere, which is why she ended up with Suge.
I know all of that; I'm saying she had a chance to blow way before that when females rappers were poppin' in the mid to late 90's and missed out. The only female rappers doing big things by the time Supernova came along were Missy and Trina (to some degree). Supernova was a good album but it would't have been well received in the US. You couldn't put it in a certain genre.
As for why they probably wrote the scene of T-Boz and Left Eye's last chat before her passing the way they did was I think because there were already enough scenes of T-Boz in the hospital and it would have been overkill, and took away from the meaning of that last chat
