Yep, that was ridiculous. The chick couldn't have been that bad if she made it through the door in the first place. It would've been better if she could sing but just didn't have the IT factor or just didn't click with the other two.

I think her wackness was hugely over-exagerated for movie purposes. Ya know, so we would get it that she wasn't that good. As someone pointed out though, in the movie LE and TB didn't do anything special. Just a poorly executed scene, I guess

On 'the breakfast club 105' last week,t-boz said Crystal just stood there during the audition and didn't do *beep*

I thought it was funny and fu_ck_ed up how Pebbles dismissed Crystal as if it was all good,then told T-Boz and Chili "she has to go".

Maybe she was. They showed she didn't fit at all and didn't have the "it" factor. It's funny because she was the one who put out the ad for 2 girls to join her singing group. She just wasn't cut out for a music career.

I got the impression she was very nervous and so she blew the audition.

I read an interview that she had done and a guy that was present at the audition was being interviewed with her. In the interview they were talking about them omitting a lot from the movie. Like for instance, they said that Jermaine Dupree was an important part in putting the group together and creating their sound and look. They also said that Crystal Jones also helped put the group together, in fact, it was all her idea. They were both in agreement with each other from the creation of the group to Peebles attitude and involvement but when asked about the audition, Crystal said something like "Everybody who knows me, knows that I can sing". Then when they asked the guy about the audition he said "she wasn't that bad". That says a lot... That broad can't sing. Then in another interview she was saying that she could sing and they were lying but when she was asked to sing something, she laughed it off and changed the subject. If she could really sing then that was her chance to let the people know that she could sing and that that part of the movie was a lie but she never did sing. She's been everywhere since that movie came out, refuting that part of the movie but I never hear her prove them wrong. If you can sing then sing, damnit! I'm like, sing one verse and prove that they took creative liberty and lied on your ass but she won't because she knows damn well that her ass can't sing. I understand that they didn't have to do her like that in the movie. They could have given another version of events of what actually happened or they could have soften the blow a bit but the truth is the truth. She claimed that the reason she was kicked out of the group is because she wouldn't sign those bogus contracts that Peeples gave them but T-Boz said that they hadn't even made it that far before she was cut. I believe T-Boz for the simple fact, T-Boz and Chilli are not great singers themselves. It's not like they are Envogue or even Destiny's Child. They are just average singers so that broad had to have been below average to be kicked out of a group of average singers. Remember in the movie when the lawyer said something like "We didn't expect the group to make it this far" so if the group was expected to fail from the jump then that broad had to have been extra terrible for them to kick her out of a group of expected failures.
