Issues I have about period piece movies.

Its a habit of mine that i pay close attention to deal in this genre of film. This showcases the true talent of set designers and how much thought and consideration was put into making a movie.

For instance the scene when left eye is on the pay phone getting the news about her dad and parked nearby is a 2003 Toyota....but its suppose to be 1990!!

And with it being 1990 the actress playing Pebbles didnt match the real Pebbles from that era at all. Back then Pebbles hair was dark, big and wavy. The actress wore a more modern style which you didnt see in those days. Even her clothes. Same about the women in the scene where Chilli was introduced. Hairstyles you see today but unheard of back then.

It seemed that TLC were the only ones in the film stuck in a time warp as their styles were matched perfectly with the times.

Apart from the skinny jeans, black american and hip hop fashion hasnt changed that much since the early 90s. But I have seen the album covers for Pepples and she did have that late 80s look that was not seen in this film.

You apparently haven't seen Pebbles in 1990. She released her second album "Always" at the time, and if you see the album cover, her hair looks just as it's portrayed in this film.

The wig they had on Rochelle was awful. Pebbles had a cut similar to that which Mariah was rocking in 1993-1995; but Pebbles did it first. Rochelle has that texture of hair so I don't know they they didn't just give her a nice weave to make it look natural.
