Damien claiming he never visited Robin Hood Hills...

I was trying to figure out if Robin Hood Hills was still around and came across a post by some guy asking area residents if the woods were still there because he wanted to visit them. The posters said no, but they had memories of playing there as kids and riding the trails and dirt mounds on their bikes. Anyway, my attention was drawn to one poster who said he last played there in April 1993 and saw Damien and Jason leaving, crossing the pipe over the drainage ditch. He said Damien and a couple other guys would steal bikes and strip them for parts (he named a lot of people I'd never heard of).

My point is, I believe him because he knows the area and offers to take photos of it for the guy who asked (and followed up on this). He also said in another post no one called it Robin Hood Hills in West Memphis, it was simply Robin Hood. Why is me believing him significant? Well, I thought Damien said he hardly ever went to West Memphis and acted like he barely knew what Robin Hood was, stating he had no reason to go there. Yet locals to this day remember seeing him there.

I wish he'd get his stories straight. I do believe he is innocent but he is frustrating as hell.

The actual quote is halfway down that page, written by someone called "I'm a Gud Speller" in case anyone wants to check it out.

That's not the only thing he continues to lie about to this day...

I just wish everybody who ever saw one of these docudramas didn't just blindly jump on board because some "cool guys" in hollywood did...

There's so many lies, and inconsistencies (from before the trial... during the trial... post-conviction... and post-release) told by Damien.

I initially got suckered into believing they were innocent, etc... But eventually I told myself there's just too many inconsistencies you have to explain away, and there'd be too many coincidences if he had nothing to do with the murders.

I respect anybody who still legitimately believes them to be innocent who has taken the time to read through all the evidence, and all the stories... Because I admit it's hard to believe somebody is guilty in this age of forensic evidence, where seemingly every open and shut murder case has a ton of forensic evidence (Actually, there's a lot of cases with no forensic evidence... Don't have the exact numbers, and stats right now, but I believe its close to 50%). Circumstantial evidence can be just as compelling as physical evidence, or forensic evidence... And when there's enough of it, IMO, it becomes a "smoking gun" in of itself.

He does seem to have a habit of lying to downplay his involvement. I forgot to mention these posts aren't on imdb, they're on a Topix forum for cities and it's on the West Memphis page...the original poster was asking locals about it. I am copying and pasting the guy's posts here for easy reference:

Post 1:

No the pipe is where they found the bikes. The bodies were down the stream. It never was robinhood hills it was just robinhood.. some dumb wm3 supporters messed the naame up. Its not scary. And it has all been cleared. Only a patch of trees left where the bodies were at. Its a crack town you may get robbed. So keep your yankee arse away and read their bs on their own website. Dont need any of you illiterate weak minded people around

Post 2:

I will go out there this weekend and take pics. I moved away awhile ago. If you want the pics list email address. Last time I played out there we saw Damien and Jason crossing the pipe as we left. And that was the end of April in 93. Sort of funny to see someone there that never visited the place. I want to say that Damien got in a fight with a Guy named David dude Nolan and got his but tore up pretty good right before the murders. And when they stole bikes William Jones Damien echols Jason Ronnie Bradshaw they would hide them there and strip parts.

It's interesting reading the stuff locals write on these boards. Tons of people knew these guys and have stories that have never been told. From the perspective of a fan of the case, these little nuggets of information are fascinating.

For further discussion, this is what sparked my original post (I'm copying and pasting another post from that forum):

Hello, iags. As you know, history is being rewritten on these sort of points, with every passing day. In 2010 Echols contradicted his own 1994 testimony and told an interviewer that, around the time of the crimes, he "didn't go to West Memphis a lot, at all," having lived outside West Memphis in Marion, further dismissing Robin Hood Hills crime scene area as a wooded, residential area that he was unfamiliar with, and never would have been in. Would love the opportunity to exchange further posts with you on this topic (and the case generally)-- either here or on Facebook, or via email.
Thanks much -- FJW [email protected]

The guy actually provided a link to a video where Damien says he wasn't familiar with the area. I like that he backed up his claim so no one here can say he never said this. I'm interested to see how supporters will twist this. Damien clearly lied.

He lied about a lot of things. To me, I just think he knew he was having this crime pinned on him, and was trying to downplay things like that. The same with the Occult stuff.
