If you're going to hunt down Rodriguez's two albums, I urge you to not buy the albums themselves, as Rodriguez gets no money from the sales.

Instead, purchase the Searching for Sugar Man soundtrack (which contains all the songs anyways) and Rodriguez gets royalties from the sales of the soundtrack.

You are obviously ill informed. Rodriguez's albums have been reissued by Light In The Attic records. Rodriguez receives royalties from sales of the reissued albums.

While it's great to support him, I don't really think that he has ever been motivated by money. From what I understand, anything he earns he just gives away.

Well, whatever he does with HIS money, he deserves to have it. What about buying on itunes? Does he get royalties from those purchases?

I just bought the movie soundtrack on iTunes and it shows Light in the Attic so I'm sure he's getting his share.
