Great film

Loved this movie. It was totally unexpected. The songs were wonderful and the story unfolded beautifully. As I came out of the Brixton Ritzy a chap who'd been at the same screening as me asked if it was all a hoax. But I checked, and it's not. I'm glad.

If you haven't already seen it, go.

I felt exactly the same way. At the start and for periods throughout the film I was questioning whether it was a hoax rather than just enjoying it for being a beautiful story.

After reading a few things I am so happy to hear that its totally real. Its put my belief back into documentaries after being 'had' a couple of times in the past.

This is real concern for non-fiction filmmakers today, as they're dealing with audiences who have become culturally accustomed to a thin line, not always clear, not always discernible (or even relevant), between "fact" and "non-fact".

I liked the way the narrative was built, in when and how we are given information. This, for Hitchcock, was at the very center of how one makes an audience respond emotionally to a film, and is as important in documentaries as in fiction.
