Hollywood Dum-Dums

"Hey, I've got a great idea! Let's make more films in the Ghostbusters series, BUT, here's the rub, let's wait until Harold Ramis is dead, Ivan Reitman is dead, and Bill Murray is cancelled before doing it, okay? Sounds like a smart move, right? In the meantime, let's fuck about and delay things with a pointless gender-swap reboot of the series nobody asked for, directed by hack filmmaker and professional whiner, Paul Feig!"

MY DAUGHTER AND I ENJOYED AFTERLIFE...AS DID A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE...LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT ONE.

Good for her.

By the way, where was your daughter in 1984 or even 1989?!?

Because the people who were around back then are the prime Ghostbusters audiences, otherwise, you might as well just continue with the Melissa McCarthy/Kristin Wiig reboot continuity and appeal to a new audience with that series.

What's the FUCKING point of continuing from the 1984 film (they seemed to have completely ignored the 1989 sequel; I guess Ray was right; Jason Reitman *is* "ungrateful yuppie larva", a quote only *true* Ghostbusters fans will know), if they're not going to pitch the film to the audiences who made those films hits? Bizarre...

Sony makes Disney and Warner Bros look like they actually have a grip on their IPs.

DUDE...CALM YOUR ASS...I WAS BORN IN 1981...I GREW UP WITH THE AMAZING ORIGINAL AND MEDIOCRE SEQUEL...I DID NOT HATE THE 2016 FILM...BUT IT IS FAR FROM A GOOD FILM...5/10...I ENJOYED AFTERLIFE QUITE A BIT...EVERYTHING ELSE YOU SAID IS YOUR DICKHEAD SHTICK.

I'd prefer a shitty sequel to the 2016 film (clearly I'm a righteous feminist now, and I demand my WOKE badge ASAP! 😠), over a mediocre/average sequel to Afterlife, if it ends up trashing the continuity of the earlier films.

Heck, I still don't understand when Egon had a kid old enough to be a mother. Carrie Coon was also born in 1981, but Egon make NO mention of her in Ghostbusters or Ghostbusters 2, and gives the impression in both films that he's a sexless virgin, and moreover, one who is doing life-threatening experiments that involve drilling holes into his head (once again, PAY FUCKING ATTENTION TO THE STORY, folks; you're daddy made the films, Jason, why the FUCK weren't YOU paying attention?!?) That he's doing such experiments when he presumably has a child, makes his antics seem even more irresponsible.

Was he a deadbeat dad or something? That seems very out-of-character with his upright intellectual persona. Once again, Hollywood retconning and shoehorning for convenience sake ends up RUINING perfectly crafted narratives.

Cinema is NOT soap-opera. You expect this shitty type of anything goes storytelling in CRAP like Eastenders, but NOT in Hollywood movies. 😠
